  • In some cases men might pass blood with urine and semen, which can be a symptom of prostate cancer.

  • In case the cancer has spread to the bones, it can lead to bone pain and fractures.

Risk Factors For Prostate Cancer

Some men run a greater risk of developing prostate cancer as compared to other men, based on the following factors.

  • Age– Older men have a higher risk of developing the disease as compared to younger ones.
  • Family History – Men who have at least one direct family member suffering from the ailment are more likely to develop the malignancy as compared to other men.
  • Race – African American men show a greater tendency of developing prostate cancer as compared to Native American, Native Alaskan and Asian/Pacific men.
  • Specific Chromosome And Prostate Changes: Certain changes in the prostate gland or the chromosomes of men also increase the risk of developing prostate cancer.

Treatment For Advanced Prostate Cancer

Irrespective of the level of expansion of prostate cancer within the patient’s body, they are still treated for prostate cancer. There are five main methods of treatment as listed below.

  • Hormone therapy
  • Radiation
  • Chemotherapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Surgery

Even though no cure has yet been found for advanced prostate cancer, patients can live for several years with proper and regular treatment if the body responds well to the therapies.
