Bad Breath Linked To Bacteria That Cause Stomach Ulcer And Cancer

Bad breath bacteria – cause of ulcer and cancer

In a new research in japan, a bacterium has been found in the mouth of the people with bad breath which cause cancer and ulcer. The strange thing is that there was apparently no sign of stomach illness.

The name of the bacteria is helicobacter pylori. This cancer and ulcer causing bacteria is also giving people the bad breath, according to the latest research. Our mouth is home to more than 600 different bacteria species, some of which can cause serious diseases. Helicobacter pylori have been shown to cause ulcers in stomach and are also accountable for a good big proportion of gastric cancers. Scientists guesstimate that between 20-80% of people in the developed countries and more than 90% people in the developing countries would carry the bacterium.

FD, Functional dyspepsia is a chronic illness of movement and sensation (peristalsis) in the upper digestive tract. Peristalsis is the typical downward squeezing and pumping of the stomach, esophagus, and intestine which starts after swallowing. This disorder is functional because there are no measurable or observable structural abnormalities found for explaining the persistent symptoms. The origin of this illness is unknown. Nonetheless, a number of hypotheses could explain the condition even though none can be typically linked with FD. Inflammation of duodenum or stomach, excessive secretion of acid, food allergies, diet and life style influences, medication side effects (from drugs like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs & aspirin), psychological factors, and helicobacter pylori have all had their advocates.

The cause of bad breath can start in the digestive system. The intestinal flora, gut microbiome and your diet can all be the factors. In case you are experiencing persistent bad breath, the cause of it may come from deep inside your digestive system. Nonetheless, bad breath caused by the digestive system can also have a number of causes. Let us have a look at the gut microbiome and its linked causes of the bad breath.

Bad breath and the digestive system

Most people who have complained of having bad breath describe it as a smell of rotten egg. This is because of the gut microbiota which breaks down the sulfur and releases an eggy-smelling gas. For some people, however, the smell is more putrid and rotten.

Symptoms of H. Pylori

This one is among the most common causes of bad breath from the digestive system. It is a kind of bacteria which exists inside the normal gut microbiota, however, when things get out of balance, it can bring out and inflict havoc. It can cause duodenal ulcers and about 2/3rd of stomach ulcers. It is also most commonly detected in the lining of the stomach of the patients of stomach cancer.

Pylori are the most passable chronic bacterial pathogen in human beings. It is present in more than 50 percent of the world’s population and is more common in the older people and in lesser sanitary, crowded places. With decreasing overcrowding and increasing hygiene standards, the infection rate is however, decreasing.

Helicobacter pylori can spread by contaminated water, mouth to mouth contact, sharing utensils or food and through body fluids such as feces and vomit. People with infection due to h. pylori do not usually show any prominent symptoms.

The symptoms of h. pylori are:

  1. Abdominal pain
  2. Nausea
  3. Bloating
  4. Loss of appetite
  5. Burping
  6. Weight loss
  7. Peptic ulcers

In case you are still concerned about the stomach bacteria which causes bad bacteria, and you think that you may have an ulcer, or any other health problem, you should concern it with your doctor immediately. Bad breath because of stomach conditions is something which needs to be treated and diagnosed pretty soon.
