If your scalp is itchy, it not only causes discomfort, but it also causes public embarrassment. One does not feel comfortable in public when something like this happens. It also leads to a lot of hair loss. But have you ever thought of the reason behind this? There are a lot of reasons because of which your scalp start itching. The reasons are a lack of hygiene, dryness in the scalp, dandruff, stress, not having your food properly, leading a dull life, some sort of skin infection like that of eczema and psoriasis. There are a lot of symptoms that prove that you have an itching scalp. The symptoms are red scalp and swelling. But do you know what should be done when your scalp starts itching? Here are some of the tips and tricks that will help you.
- Apple Cider Vinegar :
This is a very powerful anti- inflammatory agent which is used on an itchy scalp. It also helps in the killing of bacteria and fungus that are present of the scalp. After washing your hair and drying it completely, mix equal amount of water and apple cider vinegar. Apply this on your hair with the help of cotton ball and massage. Wrap your head with a towel and let it be on your hair for some time. After that, wash your hair once again.
- Tea Tree Oil :
This oil is very useful as it has anti- inflammatory, anti- bacterial and anti- fungal properties. You can add few drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo and use your shampoo. Or you can also massage your scalp with the help of tea tree oil. Use this treatment at least two times in a week.
- Lemon Juice :
It is very well known to all of us that lemon juice is antiseptic in nature. If you are suffering from dandruff, then nothing can be better than lemon juice. Lemon juice can be directly applied on your scalp. Leave it for some time and then shampoo afterward. You can also mix lemon and yoghurt and apply on your scalp. Keep this mixture at least for an hour and then shampoo your hair. This mixture is safe and can be used daily if required.
- Baking Soda :
Besides benefiting skin, baking soda also helps an itchy scalp. It acts as an exfoliating agent and also helps you in getting rid of dandruff. Take baking soda and add some water to it. Make a paste. Apply this paste on your scalp. If you want better results, before applying this paste, you can apply some olive oil on your scalp and then apply this paste. Olive oil is also a very good exfoliating agent. Keep this mixture at least for 15-20 minutes on your scalp. Wash with regular shampoo.
- Coconut Oil :
This is very good moisturizer that will keep your scalp moisturized and will help in the prevention of itching. After you are done with washing your scalp, apply coconut oil on scalp and keep it for sometime. Wash your hair after that. For better results, do this for at least three times in a week.
