  • Soft diets

When you suffer from a throat infection, it is advisable to go for food items which are lighter for your stomach as such food items won’t hurt when they go down the throat. You can eat a steamed apple after layering it with honey or crushed vegetables for smooth and pain-free eating.

  • Vitamin C

When it comes to fighting against the infectious diseases, then Vitamin C seems to the best. As per the researchers, the Vitamin C has modest yet consistent effect when it comes to reducing the pain caused by the cold and sore throat. Thus, going for Vitamin C rich food items such as broccoli, citrus fruits, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, red bell peppers, papaya, butternut squash and brussels sprouts seems to be appropriate.

  • Peppermint

You must be knowing that peppermint is used for freshening up the breath. The diluted peppermint oil has properties which help in relieving the sore throats. The peppermint has menthol in it which helps in thinning the mucus and calming the sore throats as well as a cough. Peppermint encourages healing because of its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

  • Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the main ingredients used for curing the sore throat for centuries. The acetic acid present in the apple cider vinegar helps in fighting against the bacteria. You can mix apple cider vinegar with honey and use it for treating the sore throat flu. Take 1 tablespoon of the mixture and drink a cup of hot water after it for a speedy recovery from the throat pain.

  • Hot lemon water

You though sipping hot lemon water is only to reduce weight, well, lemon can also be used for treating the sore throat. You can use it in the form of hot lemon water or lemon tea.
