Hyaluronic Acid Is Important in Providing The Youthful Look

Ageing is an inevitable process. We neither can stop it nor can reverse it. The search for the elixir of immortality or the fountain of youth seems to be stories from children’s bedtime tales. But what if I tell you that you can all remain young for a long time? You cannot stop the wheel of life but can slow it for yourselves! The ageing is the process of oxidation of our skin cells which occur when we eat and consume our food to derive energy from it. It can be slowed by using antioxidants and slowing the process of oxidation.

Despite the name hyaluronic acid, it is not an acid but polysaccharides which are an integral part of the body. A large part of hyaluronic acid is found underneath our skin and it helps to store water and retain moisture content in the skin. It is made of fibre elements collagen and elastin.

Why do we need it?

One of the most important and key features of hyaluronic acid is that it is hydrophilic in nature and bind moisture. Even one molecule of hyaluronic acid is capable of holding hundreds of molecules of water. But if our body has an inbuilt amount of hyaluronic acid then why do we need it in our cosmetics? With age and due to the impact of stress, sunburn and substandard care, bad habits like smoking and drinking, the corneal layer of skin get damaged. This leads to decrease in the concentration of hyaluronic acid. Thus, as a result, the fibres and collagen to decrease the water retention ability and hastens the skin ageing process.

What is the role of hyaluronic acid in cosmetics?

The cosmetics which we use have hyaluronic acid. From moisturizer to nail paints, every second cosmetic article has hyaluronic acid in it. The hyaluronic acid has two types depending on the mode of their working on the skin. The macromolecular hyaluronic acid has deep penetration which helps in providing the collagen and elastin to the skin. The moisturizer has a micro molecular hyaluronic acid which absorbs over the skin surface and creates a layer, which traps the water molecules and slows down the ageing process due to various environmental factors.  Thus the hyaluronic acid works both as internally and externally to slow down the ageing process by releasing the oxidants from the body and by stopping the oxidation from environmental factors.

Who can use hyaluronic acid?

As per the international standards of drugs and regulation, the content of hyaluronic acid present in any of the cosmetics is way below the alarming levels. Thus it can be easily used by any age-group or skin type person. Though the use of hyaluronic acid is especially advised to the people who have crossed the age of 30. Before this age, our skin is new and youthful and the regenerative process is quite effective. But as one tends to cross the age of 30 the skin becomes susceptible to changes and loses its ability to restore the damage caused by the pollution. Thus dermatologists suggest the use of hyaluronic acid to keep the skin healthy.

Hyaluronic acid in cosmetic procedure

It is really very hard to imagine any of the cosmetic procedure and product without hyaluronic acid. Even the products which claim to be made by natural ingredients has some amount of hyaluronic acid derived from natural sources or substitute natural ingredients are named instead of hyaluronic acid on the product. Be it the lines, face patches, wrinkles and as well as dry skin, hyaluronic acid is one stop remedy for all. So the next time you return from a sun bathed vacation, you know what to use to clear your tan.

At last, it is the remedy which is desired by every female. The hyaluronic acid is an effective and affordable solution which can be easily found in homes. What more can a woman ask for?
