Shoo away the belly fat using these five methods

Belly fat is an indicator to the state of your health. An ideal man should havea waist of 40” while a lady should have 35”. Anything above that requires you to take a health check. Belly fat is also the most dangerous types of fat and spells disease with a capital D.

We try various ways to get rid of it right from eating to exercising but nothing seems to be working. Panic not. Here I will show you five easy ways to get rid of that tyre that is making you look unsightly.

  1. AVOID SUGAR

Don’t we like all our fizzy drinks and the yummy desserts laden with lots of chocolate sauce, cream and yummy ice creams? Reality check. If you want to do away with that belly fat, control those sugar cravings. Avoid soft drinks; opt for flavoured water and fresh juices instead. If you really want to eat dessert opt for fruits and yoghurts.

  1. HAVE A PROTEIN RICH DIET

A diet rich in protein will help you lose that fat.  It not only helps you lose it, it also helps to keep your weight in check once you have lost it.  Increase your intake of eggs, fish, seafood, and dairy products. Other protein rich foods include nuts like cashew nuts, almonds, peanuts and walnuts and seeds like sunflower and hemp seeds. Sweet corn, kidney beans and soya beans are also very rich in protein.  Fill yourself with these protein rich foods for that perfect belly.

  1. INCREASE YOUR INTAKE OF VITAMIN C

When we are stressed, or had a bad day at work or depressed we tend to eat for our comfort. Makes us feel good. There is nothing wrong with that. Have you thought all that comfort eating goes straight to your belly?

To counteract the effects of your eating splurge, increase your intake of Vitamin C. It is essential for making carnitine, a compound used by the body to burn away the fat. Increase your intake of oranges, lemons, bell peppers, kale and kiwis.

  1. EXERCISE

A no brainer.  Exercise is good for overall body health. It is essential to exercise for 30 minutes at least for five days out of the week. It is important to get your heart rate up for half an hour at least for three days every week. If you don’t like going to the gym, then try walking, jogging and brisk walking. You could play football with the kids or skip with the girls. Do anything you enjoy doing whilst burning up some calories too.

  1. INCREASE YOUR FIBRE INTAKE

Eating plenty of fibre helps with weight loss. Soluble fibre is particularly effective in at reducing belly fat. Increase your intake of vegetables and fruits, legumes as well as cereals like oats. Ladyfingers are rich in fibre and keep that filling of “fullness” for a long time so you tend to eat less.

It is best to try various activities and exercises so that both stress and fat can be attacked in one go.  Most importantly you need to be disciplined. Once you make a conscious decision to get rid of that fat then follow the diet and exercise plan religiously for effective results. Don’t jump off the wagon for an odd pint and undo all the work you have done.
